Journey to the West — What You Need to Know
Journey to the West from KA Gaming combines other and chinese themes with a competitive 95.58% RTP and Medium volatility.
Journey to the West by KA Gaming is a 5x3 video slot with 243 ways to win, featuring symbols inspired by the classic Chinese novel, including the Monkey King as wild, a white horse, golden artifacts, and Asian inscriptions as scatters. Gameplay centers on standard wins from matching symbols across reels, with payouts scaling from low-value poker cards to high-value themed icons like the Monkey King offering up to 15 coins for five matches. The wild appears only on middle reels and substitutes for other symbols, while three or more scatters trigger 9 free games where wilds can expand to cover entire reels after spins, enhancing win potential without retriggering. Visual style incorporates oriental adventure elements with waterfalls, rocks, blue skies, and character motifs, though graphics are functional rather than cutting-edge. It stands out through its 243-ways structure and post-spin expanding wilds in free spins, providing medium volatility balanced action on a familiar mythological tale, though base game payouts remain modest.
